Who We Are
Born just two days apart to parents who were friends and neighbors, Norene and Lauren have been inseparable since childhood. Like many generations of Richmond Beach kids before them, the girls grew up traversing the hills and alleyways of the neighborhood in the 1980s and 90s. They spent their childhoods playing at the beach by the old caboose, visiting the little library, and spending nearly every cent of their allowance at the little corner store- known then as Richmond Beach Foods.
The little store has always been more than a place to grab a treat; it is the hub of the neighborhood. A spot where kids, families, and neighbors all cross paths. That connection is what makes this little corner store so special to so many.
Now raising their own families just up the road, Norene and Lauren are honored to carry the store's legacy forward. In October 2025, they became tenants of the building and small business owners, and with a sense of nostalgia, are returning to the name from their childhood- Richmond Beach Foods.
Their goal is simple: to honor the past while making the store a welcoming hub for today’s Richmond Beach residents and visitors. It’s about community, connection, and a new chapter of a little corner store that’s always been at the heart of the neighborhood.
